We supply construction products to the building industry through an extensive network of branches across Victoria and are experiencing continued growth.The RoleWe are seeking a Full-Time Residential Steel Reinforcing Estimator – Team Leader to join our growing team, based at our Somerton branch.In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the estimating department team members and operations, including managing customer enquiries, producing timely accurate reinforcing steel take-offs in accordance with Architectural and Engineering drawings.
You will prepare priced estimates and communicate clearly with both customers and internal sales teams to ensure expectations are met.
This position plays a key role in supporting our residential construction customers and internal stakeholders through reliable estimating and proactive communication.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the team of estimatorsBuild and maintain positive relationships with customers and internal sales teamsProvide honest, clear, and timely communication regarding estimates and enquiriesAccurately interpret Architectural and Engineering drawings to produce reinforcing steel take-offs and quotationsPrepare priced estimates for residential slab, footing and associated reinforcing requirementsAssist with coordination, scheduling, and allocation of podsShare technical knowledge with stakeholders and help resolve estimating or scope-related issuesAbout YouA positive, "can-do" attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a teamPrevious experience in estimating, scheduling, residential construction, or steel reinforcing highly regarded, but not essentialKnowledge of steel reinforcing products such as mesh, bar, pods and accessories preferredStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing prioritiesAbility to read and interpret Engineering and Architectural plansCompetent technical skills, including experience using Microsoft ExcelStrong communication skills, including the ability to handle enquiries and resolve issues professionallyFull training and ongoing support will be provided for the right candidate.
