Auto Electrician

The Role
You'll work on full builds, diagnostics, testing, and commissioning of custom road maintenance and mining support equipment, including stemming trucks, MultiPatcher units, and other specialised vehicles. You will collaborate closely with experienced trades and contribute to the development of apprentices.
Key Responsibilities
* Electrical fit-out of heavy vehicles and mobile equipment
* Fault-finding on 12V and 24V systems
* CAN J1939 and CANopen diagnostics
* Manufacturing and modifying custom wiring harnesses
* Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and harness drawings
* Supporting the training and supervision of electrical apprentices
* Assisting with testing and commissioning
* Ensuring compliance with mining and customer-specific standards
About You
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will preferably have
* Trade qualified Auto Electricians
* Strong 3rd or 4th-year Auto Electrical apprentices ready to step up
* Confident reading wiring diagrams and schematics
* Interest in advanced diagnostics and CANbus systems
* Pride in quality workmanship and problem-solving
* Demonstrated ability or interest in developing leadership skills
* Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
* Experience with hydraulic/pneumatic systems (advantageous)
