As our new Communications Manager you will play a pivotal, hands‐on leadership role within our Marketing & Communications team. This is a new role reporting to the Manager – Marketing & Communications and will lead our organisation wide communications strategy whilst working with a highly collaborative team in delivering the strategy.
You will be known for being a confident and experienced communications leader who enjoys shaping strategy, building stakeholder relationships through strong frameworks, and calmly leading through complexity, change, and crisis management.
About you and your new opportunity
As Communications Manager, you will lead both strategic and operational communications across the organisation. You will lead internal and external communications, establish strong stakeholder engagement, crisis and issues management, media and public affairs, and key corporate deliverables.
Your initial focus will be on building trust and connection with stakeholders, understanding our business, and strengthening engagement frameworks across the business as well as:
* Shaping the communications strategy – reviewing, uplifting and evolving our communications strategy with genuine influence and authority.
* Leading with impact – leading and mentoring a small communications team, uplifting capability, and recruiting future talent.
* Strategic freedom with support – having the autonomy to lead communications frameworks, complemented by a strong marketing leader and broader commercial team.
* Purpose‐led work – contributing to meaningful outcomes across communities, services, and stakeholders.
What you will bring to our team
You are an experienced communications professional who is equally comfortable setting direction and rolling up your sleeves. You understand how to operate at scale and thrive in lean environments where influence, pragmatism and trusted relationships matter as well as bringing:
* Proven leadership experience across communications, stakeholder engagement, PR, or corporate affairs.
* Strong crisis and issues management capability, with confidence advising senior leaders.
* Demonstrated experience leading and uplifting close teams.
* A proven ability to engage effectively with Boards, Executives, and diverse stakeholders.
* A calm, collaborative leadership style that builds confidence and capability in others.
* Experience working in complex, multi‐stakeholder environments (NFP, health, care, or community sectors desirable).
