Based in Ballarat, our client is a growing organsiation and a market leader in their industry. Seeking a Finance Manager for 3 - 6 months (potential for permanancy) to start ASAP. Reporting into the Head of Fianance, responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Managing the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, and reconciliations Produce timely and accurate financial statements for the board pack and associated departments reports Property and lease accounting activities in line with AASB16 Oversight of fixed asset accounting, including capitalisation, disposals and maintaining the fixed asset register Reviewing work of junior staff and providing technical guidance where needed Review & oversight of GRNI & PPV accounts. Review the monthly Balance sheet, account, and sub-ledger reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances as required Assist in year-end close Assist with rolling cashflow forecast Monitor project budgets v actual costs to variances and investigate cost drivers. Assisting with cost review and business partnering for operational departments Calculate monthly BAS lodgements Exposure to fuel tax credits would be advantageous Assist with providing accurate and timely information to support the annual and special purpose audits, in line with audit plans and schedules The successful candidate will have: CA or CPA (will consider working towards with strong experience) 7 Years experience in accounting Strong understanding of accounting standards and principles (working knowledge of AASB16 and advantage Experience in Pronto Advanced Excel skills including lookups and Pivot tables Experience in EOY close Excellent attention to detail Experience in Mining, Civil, Construction or FMCG environments would be beneficial.
