About the role
We have a newly created role to work in our internal GeneralCounsel team. Reporting to the firm's General Counsel, thisrole will have the following responsibilities:
* Reviewing client terms ofengagement, request for tender documents, and panelterms.
* Reviewing and negotiating the firm's contracts withsuppliers (including IT contracts).
* Drafting and reviewing non-disclosure agreements
* Providing advice to lawyers and partners regardingprofessional conduct issues, including the requirements of theSolicitors' Conduct Rules.
* Providing legal and regulatory advice to the firm regardinginternal innovation projects.
* Assisting with the firm's Anti-Modern Slavery andprivacy compliance programs
* Assisting in the implementation of internal processes forcompliance with new legislation, regulation and best practice(e.g. Anti-Money Laundering, conflict checking and matteropening processes).
* Drafting firm policies
* Legal research on compliance and regulatory issuesaffecting the firm and its employees.
* Assisting the General Counsel and Special Counsel with adhoc risk and compliance issues, as required.
About you
You will be a qualified lawyer, with 2-3+ years'experience. You may be coming from private practice in acorporate/commercial team or in an in-house GeneralCounsel/compliance/risk team. You will have a strong interest inrisk and be looking to grow your career in this area. To besuccessful in this role, you will have excellent written and verbalcommunication skills, the ability to prioritise your work, andstrong attention to detail.
