Research Fellow in Ethnography and Sociology of the Artificial Cryosphere
As a research fellow in this multi-faceted role, you will conduct ethnographic case studies across three domains: space cooling, biomedicine, and food supply. You will contribute to developing an online atlas on the cryosphere and its cultural phenomena.
The selected candidate will have a key function in co-curating and managing the Cryogenic Cultures Multimedia Archive, serving as a crucial knowledge production and synthesis tool. They will also support the work of the wider ethnographic team and co-advise on project matters.
We seek candidates with PhDs in anthropology, STS, sociology, history, human geography, or related disciplines, along with significant experience in ethnographic fieldwork. Successful applicants will have experience in multi-sited research and working on interdisciplinary projects, with a demonstrated record of publishing in high-quality academic journals.
Fluency in English is required, and while proficiency in German is not mandatory, it is desirable.
