Gatton Hospital offers a range of services, including emergency, postnatal care, outpatient, community health, and allied health care.
As an Allied Health Assistant, you will contribute to patient care by providing administrative and clinical assistance to the Allied Health Professionals (AHP) in their day-to-day clinical duties within Gatton Hospital. This role works under the supervision and direction of the AHPs and undertakes only those clinical tasks delegated to them. The role will primarily act as a liaison between patients, their carers, and clinical teams to progress discharge planning for patients.
Permanent part time position – 44 hours per fortnight!

What we're looking for
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
* Ability to provide a defined range of patient interventions as delegated by an allied health professional.
* Ability to effectively communicate with clients and staff. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team with a good understanding of your own scope of practice.
* Personal time management skills including the ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities and the ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required.
* Delivers work of high quality, validity, and accuracy.
Mandatory Requirements:
* Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
* While not mandatory, possession of or in the process of obtaining the following is highly desirable, proof of course registration is required:
o Certificate III in Health Services Assisting, or
o Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assisting, or
o Certificate III in Health Administration, or
o Certificate III in Community Services Work, Aged Care, Disability or similar.
