Overview

Location: Town Hall. Employment status: Permanent, Full-time. Classification: Municipal Officer Level 3. Agreement: Hobart City Council Enterprise Agreement 2024. Salary range: $91,138 per annum + 13.5% superannuation.


About the role

This is an exciting newly established position, created to support the centralisation of Council's property portfolio. We're seeking a highly organised professional with property expertise to support the centralisation of Council's property portfolio. This role provides operational support and delivers expert advice across property-related matters, including leasing, licensing, acquisitions, disposals, compliance, and contract management.

Success in this position hinges on your ability to manage complex documentation, maintain accurate records, and coordinate processes efficiently. Your strong administrative background will ensure seamless handling of contracts, compliance requirements, and property transactions, enabling the team to operate with precision and confidence.

Role responsibilities

* Prepare and process documentation for property transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Council policies and legislative requirements.
* Maintain organised filing systems and databases to support efficient retrieval of property and contract information.
* Provide advice on property-related matters including contracts, acquisitions, leasing, and compliance.
* Coordinate inspections and ensure leased properties meet the terms of their agreements.
* Manage property-related contracts and maintain accurate records in Council's Contract Management system.
* Assist with drafting correspondence, reports, and meeting agendas to support property management activities and decision-making.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external service providers to resolve property issues, support maintenance requests, and improve asset utilisation.
* Contribute to strategic planning, reporting, and performance analysis to enhance the value and efficiency of Council's property portfolio.


Qualifications and requirements

* Diploma or higher in property, business, or law, or equivalent hands-on experience in managing property, assets, leases, and government-owned facilities.
* Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People and a valid Driver Licence.
* Experience in property management, contract administration, or local government operations is highly regarded.
