About The Role
As the Head of Department - Curriculum at Maryborough State High School, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the learning journey for Years 10-12 by leading dynamic curriculum planning, assessment, and delivery across academic, ATAR, and VET pathways. You will inspire and mentor a passionate team of educators, drive the continuous improvement of student outcomes, and cultivate valuable partnerships with tertiary institutions and industry leaders to ensure our students are future-ready.
Highly Desirable Experiences And Skills
Highly desirable but not mandatory experiences and skills include strong leadership in senior secondary education, expertise in data-informed decision-making, and comprehensive knowledge of QCAA and VET frameworks. Ideally, these are complemented by proven experience in building external partnerships and driving innovative programs, such as those in the health sector.
Your Responsibilities
As the Head of Department - Curriculum, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

* Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
* Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
* Set high standards for student and staff performance.
* Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
