Chef – Indian & Subcontinental Cuisine

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our team at our busy Indian restaurant. The ideal candidate will bring authentic culinary skills, strong leadership, and the ability to deliver consistently high-quality dishes.

Responsibilities & Duties:

* Prepare and cook a variety of high-quality Indian and Subcontinental dishes with attention to taste, presentation, and consistency.
* Lead and coordinate kitchen operations including preparation, cooking, plating, and timely service.
* Develop and introduce new menu items while preserving the restaurant's authentic culinary style.
* Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards.
* Monitor stock levels, order supplies, check deliveries, and manage proper storage.
* Estimate food consumption and manage resources effectively to minimise waste.
* Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to maintain high standards.
* Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff for smooth service and customer satisfaction.
* Be available to work weekends, public holidays, and during peak service hours.

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Chef specialising in Indian and Subcontinental cuisine.
* Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or Diploma in Hospitality (preferred or willingness to obtain).
* Strong knowledge of traditional recipes, spices, and cooking techniques.
* Ability to manage a fast-paced kitchen and lead a team.
* Flexibility to work varied shifts.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $76,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
