About the Role
As a Support Worker, you will provide assistance in Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes, helping participants with daily activities, personal care, and community engagement. You must be willing and available to work sleepovers shifts as part of your roster. If you're not based in Toowoomba, you must be willing to travel for work.
What You'll Do
Assist with daily living tasks such as personal care, meal prep, cleaning, and shopping.
Manual handling tasks such as hoisting, operating manual or electric wheelchairs and assisting with transfers.
Provide and assist with transport and support for medical appointments, social outings, and activities.
Work alongside allied health professionals to develop support plans and help participants achieve their goals.
Support participants in gaining independence, confidence, and community involvement.
Ensure participants always have choice and control over their care and support.
What We're Looking For
Experience & Qualifications – Experience with manual handling equipment and behaviour management is highly desirable along with a certificate III in Individual Support (or higher) OR relevant industry experience/similar qualifications.
Candidates without a Certificate III in Individual Support must have a minimum of 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
Essential Requirements – NDIS Worker Screening (Yellow Card), Working with Children Check (Blue Card), First Aid & CPR Certificate, Current "C" Class Driver's License, Full Comprehensive Car Insurance, and your own vehicle.
Skills & Traits – Strong communication skills, adaptability, empathy, understanding and person-centered care focused.
Availability – Must be available to work some sleepover shifts.
