PhD Position in Power System Control
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join our research team at the Technical University of Denmark. The project aims to design a technology-agnostic two-layer control architecture for hybrid power plants that integrate wind, solar, and battery storage technologies.
About the Project
* This 36-month PhD program offers full employment benefits and access to cutting-edge technical training.
* Our network of 15 doctoral researchers will work together on the design, modeling, control, and techno-economic optimization of wind turbines, wind farms, and HPPs.
Responsibilities
* Modeling, simulation, controller development, performance analysis, publication of research findings, teaching assistance, and co-supervision of MSc theses.
Candidate Profile
* A Master's degree (or equivalent, 120 ECTS) in power system engineering, electrical engineering, control systems, or a closely related field.
* A solid foundation in power system dynamics, converter control, and control theory.
* Experience with modeling and simulation of energy systems (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, Python).
* Familiarity with renewable energy technologies such as wind, solar PV, and battery storage.
* Understanding of converter-based generation systems and grid integration.
* Strong analytical and independent research skills.
* Proficiency in written and verbal English.
* Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and cultures.
