Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Works Superintendent to join their team on a 4–6 week contract, with potential for extension. This is an immediate start role based at the Kwinana Bulk Terminal, working Monday to Friday (40 hours per week). Offering a competitive rate of up to $89.85 per hour (flat rate).
About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing construction contractor activities and ensuring works are delivered in line with policies, standards, contracts, and industry best practice. You will play a key role in monitoring contractor performance, managing safety and compliance, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee daily operations of port infrastructure construction projects, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery
* Monitor contractor performance, including safety, quality, scope, and compliance with specifications
* Manage inspections, testing, reporting, and final acceptance of works
* Provide guidance on project requirements, including permits, SWMS, JSEA, and other safety controls
* Track progress against schedules and report on cost, quality, and performance
* Foster strong, collaborative relationships between contractors and the project team
* Support development of scopes of work, specifications, and feasibility assessments
About You
* Minimum 7+ years' experience in project management or construction supervision
* Strong knowledge of OH&S legislation and safe work practices
* Experience supervising construction in industrial or brownfields environments
* Proven experience in contract management, scope development, and project delivery
* Ability to manage high-risk construction activities and ensure compliance with relevant standards
Essential Requirements
* Completion of Identify, Locate and Pothole (R11CFM202E) certification (for excavation permit issuing)
Desirable
* Qualifications in Project Management or Contract Administration
* Relevant tertiary or trade qualifications in construction, engineering, or a related discipline
