We are recruiting Aboriginal Health Practitioners to deliver culturally safe, competent primary healthcare to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients across multiple correctional settings in Victoria. 
Location and Hours 
Positions available at multiple correctional centre locations across Victoria. Full time and part time opportunities available with flexibility to work at multiple locations. Relocation assistance, free parking, and generous leave and professional development benefits offered. 
Salary range: $90,000 – $102,000 (Full Time Equivalent) + Superannuation, based on qualifications and experience. 
Current Available Positions 
- Lara Precinct – Barwon Prison, Lara: Up to 5 days per week 
- Marngoneet Correctional Centre, Lara: Up to 3 days per fortnight 
- Western Plains Correctional Centre, Lara: 1 day per week 
- Beechworth Correctional Centre, Beechworth: Up to 5 days per fortnight 
- Hopkins Correctional Centre, Ararat: Up to 5 days per week (Full Time and Part Time of 4 days per fortnight available) 
- Langi Kal Kal Prison, Langi Kal Kal: Up to 5 days per week 
- Loddon & Middleton Prison, Castlemaine: Up to 5 days per week 
- Ravenhall Correctional Centre, Ravenhall: Up to 3 days per fortnight 
- Melbourne Assessment Prison / Metropolitan Remand Centre, West Melbourne/Truganina: Up to 5 days per week 
- Trainee Position: Melbourne Assessment Prison / Metropolitan Remand Centre: Up to 5 days per week 
About the Role 
Aboriginal Health Workers/Practitioners are key members of the GEO Healthcare Team and play an integral role in delivering Primary Healthcare Services across Victoria’s public prisons. You will provide culturally safe and competent primary healthcare to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients within a correctional setting. The role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to advocate for cultural and health needs, ensuring care is delivered with respect, dignity, and clinical excellence. 
Responsibilities and Qualifications 
- Relevant health qualification, or currently studying for a Certificate III or IV in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (or equivalent). Salary for applicants with these qualifications varies by level. 
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner (or eligible to use the reserved title). 
- Ability to provide culturally competent and safe health care to Aboriginal people. 
- Ability to perform primary health assessments, planning, treatment, and evaluation. 
- Effective verbal and written communication skills. 
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and across GEO Healthcare locations. 
- Identification as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. 
Other Requirements 
- Valid and current full Australian driver’s licence. 
- Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check. 
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
