Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team that specializes in feral animal education and control. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the development, implementation, and review of projects and programs aimed at reducing the impacts of feral animals on the Sunshine Coast.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree related to Natural Resource Management, Environmental Health or tertiary qualifications and/or significant relevant industry experience relating to pest animal control principles, techniques, and best practice.
Key responsibilities include:
* Liaising effectively with members of the community, staff, Councillors external consultants, sub-consultants, contractors or suppliers to ensure timely delivery of projects/programs/services.
* Managing the preparation, implementation, and review of feral animal education and control projects and programs, including overseeing physical, financial, and administrative aspects and reporting performance.
* Developing and contributing specialist knowledge to strategies, policies, standard operating guidelines, reports, briefings, submissions, and discussion papers on current and emerging issues relevant to feral animal education and control projects and programs.
* Coordinating consultation and community engagement processes relevant to community action and engagement programs using high-level judgement, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
* Providing team leadership that supports a team culture that values diversity and inclusion and encourages team work, employee engagement, innovation, openness, participation, learning, and development.
