Role Details
The Lead Coach, Canoe Sprint is responsible for the day to daycoaching of nationally categorised and targeted Canadian Canoe andpara athletes kayak and canoe in SASI's Canoe Sprint programensuring that athletes can achieve podium performances atinternational benchmark events with the priority given to athletestracking towards Olympic and Paralympic Games selection. The LeadCoach, Canoe Sprint will be responsible for working in partnershipwith Paddle SA coaching and talent identification staff focusing onthe identification and development of Canadian canoe and para CanoeSprint athletes. In addition, the Lead Coach, Canoe Sprint willprovide leadership to Canoe Sprint coaches in clubs, and thebroader South Australian Canoe Sprint community. They will workunder the direction of the Head Coach, Canoe Sprint, SASI Para UnitLead, Paddle Australia and key high performance staff as part of acollaborative approach ensuring system alignment between the SASI'sCanoe Sprint program and the national high performance program. Therole reports to the Manager, Sports and Programs and has a closeday to day working relationship to the SASI Sports Coordinator. TheLead Coach, Canoe Sprint will also work in partnership with SASIPara Unit and Talent Search staff.
Special Conditions
- The Incumbent will be required to participate in thedepartment's Performance Management Program.
- The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at thisremuneration level or equivalent.
- Some work outside of normal hours will be required.
- Some interstate travel involving overnight absences will berequired.
- This role requires a working with children check.
- A current driver's licence and willingness to drive.
- Minimum Foundation Paddle Australia Coaching Accreditation(or international equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a Canoe Sprintcoaching role as part of a national sport organisation,national team, state institute or high performance clubenvironment.

Salary Range
$67,589 - $72,033 p.a. (pro rata for 0.6 FTE part-timeposition)
