About the role
Diverse Ideas Australia Pty Ltd is seeking passionate and dedicated part-time & casual Disability Support Workers to join our team in Rutherford, NSW. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering and supporting individuals with diverse needs, ensuring they can live with dignity and independence.
What you'll be doing
* Assisting individuals with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
* Providing emotional support and engaging clients in social and recreational activities to promote their wellbeing
* Advocating for the rights and needs of clients, ensuring they receive the appropriate level of care and support
* Implementing individualised support plans
* Maintaining accurate records and documentation to ensure high-quality service delivery
What we're looking for
* Relevant qualifications in disability support, community services, or a related field (lived experience is ok)
* Experience in providing person-centred care and support to individuals with diverse needs
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and their families
* Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of people with disabilities
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team
* A current driver's licence and reliable transportation
