Quality Assurance (QA) is a team of Operations Professionals, part of the Financial Crime Services (FCS) team in Chief Operations Office (COO). The team is accountable for the development, implementation, and ongoing leadership of the Group's financial crime operations shared service. Financial Crime Operations leads the Group's approach to managing Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) and Sanctions risks and obligations through the provision of the following operational services AML, CTF, KYC, Sanctions, ECDD etc.
You will be part of the Quality Assurance team in Financial Crime Operations (FCO) with focus on ensuring strong operational cadences with a strong quality and compliance focus on outcomes with efficiency in the way that we disrupt financial crime.
Quality Assurance footprint spans Australia and India.
DO WORK THAT MATTERS
As a QA Senior Analyst, you will ensure the accuracy and completeness of Financial Crime cases, adhering to regulatory standards. Acting as a subject matter expert, you will advise on complex cases and emerging risks, identify thematic issues and trends, and conduct deep-dive reviews to provide detailed analysis and insights. You will collaborate with stakeholders to foster a compliance-focused culture, support audit and regulatory activities, and enhance QA tools and processes. Additionally, you will escalate risks promptly and mentor peers to build team capability
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the Anti-Money Laundering, Counter Terrorism Financing and Sanctions legal and regulatory obligations of the Group as they apply to your role. Actively contribute to the Group's goal of NPS+30 in 3 years by prioritising our customers and their lived experience above all else. Undertake all activities in line with the Group's values and prescribed methodologies, strategies and policies. Demonstrate a sound understanding of end-to-end business processes by actioning all tasks in accordance with Standard Operating procedures (SOPs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Demonstrate consistent due diligence when performing peer review of all cases and capturing findings and decisions within the Group's Case Management Systems and escalation reports. Stay abreast of financial crime and security related trends and emerging issues, proactively identifying, understanding and acting on and/or escalating current and future risks to the Group. Understand and proactively identify, report and escalate incidents, issues and risks within Group timeframes. Drive a culture of continuous improvement by proactively identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness of processes. Accurately record customer interactions, findings and decisions within the appropriate Group systems in a concise and timely manner. Other tasks relating to the management of financial crime processes as directed by your manager.
You will report directly to a Financial Crime Quality Assurance Manager .
On any given day you will
* Assess the effectiveness, accuracy and completeness of Financial Crime cases in line with regulatory standards
* Act as a subject matter expert in QA for Financial Crime processes, advising on complex cases and emerging risks
* Identify thematic issues, trends, process and customer breakpoints through QA reviews conducted
* Support with deep-dive thematic reviews providing detailed analysis and insights in line with regulatory and compliance requirements
* Collaborate and partner with stakeholders including peers, leaders, risk partners, FCC and technology teams to promote a compliance and risk focused culture by raising awareness and providing guidance to improve quality and reduce error rates
* Support with audit, regulatory and assurance activities as required
* Support with the development, testing and enhancement of QA tools and processes where required
* Escalate identified risks and trends in a timely manner
* Mentor and coach peers to support one another in building capability across the team
* Capture and document your due diligence, findings and decision rationale within the relevant alert and case management systems.
* Act in a discrete and confidential manner to ensure the Groups policies and processes remain confidential, and tipping-off provisions are not breached.
* Champion a Continuous Improvement culture within the team through identifying and delivering uplift initiatives through to completion.
* Take accountability for your own key performance indicators as well as contributing to the team's performance/targets inclusive of team culture.
* Encourage yourself and others to participate in FCO strategy days, huddles and people and culture survey action planning.
* Adhere to MyDay expectations and ensure accurate reflection of the day's activities and output on MyDay.
* Drive your own development plan and monthly 1 on 1/coaching discussions.
We're interested in hearing from people who have
* 3+ years Financial Crime experience in Enhanced Customer Due Diligence or Transaction Monitoring
* Strong knowledge of Austrac obligations and the AML CTF Act
* Ability to analyse complete financial data to identify suspicious activity
* Ability to think critically and solve complex problems
* Highly developed written skills for preparing investigation summaries and reports
* Sound stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage with both business and compliance teams
* Experience in a fast-paced, high volume operational environment preferred
* Completion of tertiary education preferred
* A proven record of delivering improvement and uplift initiatives preferred
