About the Role
The Equity & Diversity Project Officer (LGBTIQA+) is accountable for the development, implementation and review of equity programs, projects and activities for staff and students, with a particular focus on initiatives to improve employment and education outcomes for people who identify as LGBTIQA+. The incumbent may also contribute to projects or initiatives that are part of the broader work of the Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion.
The incumbent is also accountable for the provision of expert advice and assistance to UTS students and staff in relation to equal opportunity, access and discrimination issues for LGBTIQA+ people and for contributing to the overall work of the Centre.
If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for:
* Leading initiatives and programs that support inclusion, participation and success of LGBTIQA+ staff and students.
* Identifying emerging issues and provide expert advice, strategies and policy input to drive meaningful cultural change.
* Developing and delivering evidence-based training and professional development with a focus on LGBTIQA+ inclusion.
* Engaging and consulting with stakeholders to design, implement, and evaluate impactful programs and services.
* Establishing ethical data collection and monitoring practices to measure outcomes and ensure continuous improvement.
With examples, please outline within your Cover Letter, how you meet the following key selection criteria:
* Understanding of current equity and diversity issues, with a particular emphasis on employment and education issues for LGBTIQA+ people, preferably in the higher education sector.
* High-level communication skills, both written and verbal, with proven experience engaging and building relationships across a complex institutional ecosystem e.g. from executive level staff and academics to casuals, HDR students, and undergraduate students (or equivalent).
* Strong and demonstrated commitment to values and practices of equity, diversity and inclusion and the key tenets of the Centre such as intersectionality and strengths-based approaches.
* Negotiation and liaison skills with internal and external stakeholders in a collaborative, and culturally responsive manner. Experience in conflict management and resolution is highly desired.
Remuneration & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $107,402 - $118,813 pa (HEW 7)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
