Production Manager
OverviewA client of ours are currently seeking an experienced, Production Manager to lead shop-floor operations within a manufacturing environment. This role suits a practical, motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced production setting and is comfortable leading by example.
This is not a desk-based position. The successful candidate will be actively involved in day-to-day production, supporting the team, resolving issues in real time, and driving performance on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and drive daily production operations to achieve productivity, quality, and delivery objectives.
2. Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor, actively contributing to production and leading by example.
3. Prepare accurate job quotations and effectively schedule work to balance capacity and demand.
4. Develop, coach, and engage production personnel to build a capable and motivated team.
5. Monitor operations to identify inefficiencies or issues and introduce practical improvements.
6. Uphold all quality, health & safety, and environmental standards across the production area.
7. Work closely with senior management to support operational excellence and continuous improvement.
About You:
8. Demonstrated experience leading production teams in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
9. Solid hands-on workshop background with the ability to diagnose and resolve production challenges.
10. Strong leadership capability with a people-first management style.
11. Proactive and practical approach, with a willingness to be involved in all aspects of production.
12. Resilient under pressure, with the ability to manage priorities and meet demanding deadlines.
13. Adaptable, pragmatic, and focused on finding workable solutions.
14. Effective communicator with strong planning and organisational skills.
