We are seeking a Mechanic Workshop Supervisor (2IC) to support our Mechanical Workshop Manager and play a key leadership role in maintaining the reliability and performance of our mechanical plant, vehicles and equipment.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to an experienced mechanic ready to step into operational oversight and take the next step in their career.
About the Role
As the Workshop 2IC, you will:
* Provide day-to-day operational leadership on the workshop floor
* Support and coordinate mechanics to ensure jobs are prioritised and completed efficiently
* Carry out inspections, servicing, fault diagnosis and repairs across a broad range of plant and equipment
* Monitor job progress and escalate issues impacting safety, timelines or quality
* Prepare job estimates and coordinate parts and consumables when required
* Mentor apprentices and semi-skilled personnel
* Participate in breakdown and on-call support rosters
* Maintain a safe, compliant and organised workshop environment
* Step into the Mechanical Workshop Manager role during periods of absence
You will act as a key link between mechanics, operations and management to minimise downtime and support business continuity.
About You
* You will bring:
* Trade-qualified Mechanical qualification (essential)
* Strong mechanical experience, including supervisory or team leadership exposure
* Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving capability
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Competence in Microsoft Office
* A practical, commercially focused mindset
* Commitment to safety and WHS compliance
You are a confident communicator, capable of guiding others while maintaining high technical standards. You work well under pressure, take pride in quality workmanship, and lead by example.
