Fantastic opportunity to work an 8-month fixed-term role (July 2025) as a Communications Manager for Queensland Government.
This position leads a high-performing team responsible for media, communication, content, digital, design, education, and engagement functions
**To be successful in this role, you will need**:
- Proven experience in developing and implementing targeted and integrated communication, media, digital, and education strategies for both internal and external audiences.
- Demonstrated expertise in media relations and issues management.
- Experience collaborating directly with senior leaders and stakeholders to inform, negotiate, and influence decision-making.
- Exceptional judgment and strong written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail in writing, editing, and publishing.
- Ability to thrive under pressure, adapt to shifting priorities, and lead through change with confidence.
- Experience in managing team operations, including budgets, procurement, workloads, resources, planning, reporting, recordkeeping, and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Background in a fast-paced corporate communication, media, or public relations environment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills to guide, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and employee wellbeing.
To be eligible and competitive for this role, you must currently hold a managerial position or have prior management experience, specifically leading teams in communication and media roles.
