Resident Medical Officer (PGY2) for the Sydney Local Health District at Royal Prince Alfred, Balmain and Dubbo Base Hospitals.

What you'll be doing
* Provide effective medical care to patients under supervision in a complex clinical environment.
* Coordinate admission, management, and discharge planning for patients in your unit, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
* Perform day‐to‐day assessment and management of patients, communicating with them and their families about conditions and treatment options.
* Co‐ordinate care with team members, arranging consultations and other services when appropriate, and liaising with local medical officers and community‐based care modalities.
* Make patient‐care decisions in consultation with your immediate supervisor.
* Complete at least one term at either Balmain Hospital or Dubbo Hospital, with rotations in medical, surgical, critical care, paediatrics, O&G, and other specialties.
* Participate in overtime and on‐call rosters.

Qualifications
* MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Demonstrated excellent skilled behaviour in the workplace, preferably endorsed by a current Director of Pre‐Vocational Education Training or equivalent.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
* Preparedness and ability to participate in overtime and on‐call rosters.
* Good organisational and time‐management skills.
* Willingness to move between services and geographical locations, including rural areas.
* At least 12 months of experience in an Australian hospital.
