Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Mechatronics Engineer, based in Sydney, NSW. The Mechatronics Engineer will focus on designing, developing, and integrating mechatronic systems for spacecraft and robotics applications. Daily tasks will include working on electrical and mechanical system design, performing maintenance and repairs, and troubleshooting components such as sensors, actuators, and circuits, creating software for embedded systems. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and robust system performance is integral to the role.
Qualifications
* Strong expertise in embedded systems
* Proven track record in working on the flight software for satellites
* Prior projects with complex microcontrollers (Atmel or STM32) and communication buses (CAN-FD, RS-422/485/232) and Cubesat Space Protocol
* Experience in robotics and automation
* Skills in Maintenance & Repair and troubleshooting for advanced systems
* Expertise in software quality compliance frameworks and rulesets, NASA and ESA software standards
* Proficiency in electronics enough to understand schematics, test PCBs, and consult electrical engineers
* Master's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to challenges
* Demonstrated problem-solving skills and innovation mindset
