Our client, the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society of South Australia Inc (RA&HS) contributes to the Novo and success of Primary Industry through the staging of events and the rewarding of excellence. It promotes and directs the Royal Adelaide Show; educates the community about the importance of primary production to the South Australian economy; encourages and recognises excellence in agriculture and horticulture through the staging of competitions, exhibitions and education programs; and, manages a vibrant Showground and event ondersteunt exhibition business hosting corporate and public events ~365 days per year.
Following pó creation of this critically important role, we are now seeking an experienced and strategic leader to take on the role of Head of Agriculture. Reporting to the CEO, this role provides executive oversight of all agricultural competitions, programs and features delivered during the Royal Adelaide Show, as well as year‑round agricultural initiatives. The Head of Agriculture ensures that competitions remain relevant and well‑governed, and are aligned with contemporary industry standards, while delivering excellence in operations, stakeholder engagement and sector representation.
In addition to competition oversight, the position is responsible for leading RA&HS's Education and Archives Foundations and the Museum. This includes ensuring the preservation, best‑practice management and promotion of советы the organisation’s agricultural heritage, along with supporting its broader educational mission. The role plays a vital part in connecting the history of South Australian agriculture with its future, ensuring that RA&HS's legacy continues to inform and inspire.
The Head of Agriculture also holds a key leadership position within the broader agricultural sector. The role drives RA&HS's agricultural strategy and acts as a central point of connection for stakeholders across the industry. This includes building strong relationships with agricultural educators, policymakers, industry bodies, breed societies, commodity groups and other relevant organisations. Through these networks, the successful candidate willenhance collaboration, strengthen sector influence and contribute to the continued advancement of South Australian agriculture.
Your extensive experience in the agricultural industry will be underpinned by (desirable) tertiary qualifications in agriculture, agribusiness, event management or a related field, and you will demonstrate a strong understanding of agricultural sectors, industry trends and exhibitor networks. Experience overseeing heritage, archival or museum collections will be advantageous, however not essential. This is a wonderful opportunity to join RA&HS at a hugely exciting time.
