A reputable SA government department is seeking an experienced ASO2 Accounts Payable Officer to join the Financial Services team on a temporary basis. This opportunity will see you working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, supporting government agencies, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
About the Role:
As an Accounts Payable Officer, you will report to the Operational Team Leader and provide key support across supplier account management and invoice processing. You will be part of a collaborative and service-focused team delivering efficient and accurate financial services.
Key Responsibilities:
o Create and amend SA Government supplier accounts in financial systems
o Liaise with suppliers regarding tax invoice compliance
o Respond to inbound and outbound calls and email enquiries
o Reconcile supplier accounts (preferred)
o Meet daily performance targets and team goals
o Provide timely, high-quality customer service
Preferred Experience:
o Customer service in a call centre environment
o Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable
o Financial reporting or accounting exposure
o Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel (intermediate level)
Essential Requirements:
o Data entry/typing speed of at least 40wpm
o Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
o Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
o Ability to manage high work volumes and meet deadlines
o Quick to learn and adaptable
o Strong numerical reasoning skills
