Our client, a Commonwealth Government agency, is seeking a highly capable and motivated EL1 Case Manager to join their People and Capability team on a short-term labour hire basis. This role is responsible for leading the delivery of complex human resource case management and contributing to strategic initiatives across workplace relations, payroll coordination, work health and safety (WHS), and staff wellbeing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing sensitive HR matters within the Australian Public Service, with proven experience in applying legislative frameworks and driving effective outcomes in a high-paced, people-focused environment. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage complex HR casework, including conduct, underperformance, health-related matters, and compensation cases. Champion the agency's approach to workplace health, safety, and wellbeing, ensuring alignment with relevant legislation and policy. Provide high-level advice and leadership on workplace relations, including managing and resolving industrial matters. Oversee payroll coordination, liaising with the outsourced provider (Service Delivery Office) to ensure accurate and timely payroll services. Develop and implement HR systems, policies, frameworks, and reporting tools that support organisational capability and compliance. Provide expert advice to staff, candidates, and stakeholders, ensuring adherence to employment legislation, APS frameworks, and agency procedures. Interpret complex legislation and enterprise agreements to support sound HR decision-making. Lead and support members of the People and Capability team, promoting a culture of collaboration and high performance. Qualifications and Requirements Certificate IV in Investigations Preffered Australian Citizenship (mandatory) Current Baseline Security Clearance (Mandatory) Demonstrated experience in HR case management, including conduct and performance issues Strong understanding of APS employment legislation, industrial frameworks, and workplace relations Proven ability to work effectively in hybrid and fast-paced environments Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills Leadership experience in people management and capability development To submit your application, please apply using the appropriate seek link.
