Your Team The Markets Technology team combines technical expertise, innovative problem-solving to design, deploy and implement effective solutions to support the Trading and Clearing businesses within the ASX. You will be working closely with other technical, Testing, Architecture and our Lines of Business on the Design and Implementation of application solutions to support product development across ASX. This opportunity will suit someone who is looking to take their skills in Java and SQL data bases to the next level in their career. You will have the opportunity to upskill into the role on offer, enabling you to bring both technology expertise and Financial Services domain knowledge and apply these to the design and build of data streaming, microservices, adaptors and backend applications. Your responsibilities Perform functional, regression, and integration testing for BAU fixes and minor enhancements on Calypso. Validate trade lifecycle workflows (Front Office, Risk, and Back Office) across Calypso and external systems. Conduct testing of trade affirmation and confirmation flows via Markitwire. Contribute towards implementing and enhancing CATT (Calypso Automated Testing Tool) for automated regression testing. Develop, maintain, and execute test cases, test scripts, and scenarios based on business and technical requirements. Collaborate with developers, BA, and support teams to reproduce defects and drive resolution. Provide UAT support to business stakeholders. Perform SQL-based data validation and reconciliation across trade flows. Document test results, defect logs, and regression packs for continuous QA coverage. Stay updated with capital markets products and evolving Calypso capabilities. Your experience and qualifications Must have 1–3 years of hands-on Java development experience (Core Java, multithreading, collections, JDBC, etc.). Good SQL and database knowledge (Oracle, SQL Server, or similar). Knowledge of messaging systems (e.g., MQ, Kafka) and Unix/Linux environment is a plus. Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments. Knowledge of QA processes, defect management tools (JIRA/Xray), and STLC/SDLC. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Familiarity with API testing (REST/SOAP) and automation frameworks (Selenium, Cucumber, RestAssured). Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Finance, or related field. Nice to have Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Knowledge of financial regulations and risk management practices. Understanding of ITIL processes (incident/change/problem management).
