This is a Executive Manager Supplier Governance and Resilience role with Commonwealth Bank based in Sydney, NSW, AU Commonwealth Bank Role Seniority - senior More about the Executive Manager Supplier Governance and Resilience role at Commonwealth Bank Do work that matters The Operational Resilience Team is an integral part of Group Security at CBA, working alongside Cyber Security, Protective Security, Fraud Technology, Fraud Management Services and Cyber Defence Operations. Operational Resilience is committed to safeguarding our customers, businesses and stakeholders from the impacts of disruption. The Team is responsible for providing the Business Continuity Policy, Standard and specialist advice in relation to the Bank’s operational risk management, technology recovery, crisis management and business continuity capabilities. See yourself in the team As Executive Manager, you will report to the COE Lead Resilience and will lead a team of operational resilience professionals. This role provides leadership and oversight across the Team’s supplier governance and resilience activities. You will draw on your governance background to produce high quality reporting of the Team’s work against relevant frameworks. You will provide expert resilience SME advice, enabling your team, group procurement and supplier governance to maintain the highest standards of supplier governance and operational risk management. Your responsibilities will include: Developing a broad and in-depth understanding of business continuity, and the Group’s dependency on supplier services. Ensuring the effective application of operational risk management and compliance frameworks for supplier governance and business continuity. Providing accurate and commercial advice to the Group in relation to obligations, templates, controls, policies and procedures relevant to supplier governance and resilience. Contributing to design, review and improvement of supplier governance and resilience initiatives. Overseeing the effectiveness of resilience-managed programs to support business continuity management of our suppliers. Executing accountabilities under relevant frameworks, including reporting to relevant forums and contributing to management reports. Building effective partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders, including the Business, Risk, Compliance, Group Procurement and Supplier Governance. What successful the candidate will look like We’re looking for an Executive Manager with experience in governance and risk management, is adaptable and sets up their Team for success. You’ll be someone who is naturally curious, takes ownership, and consistently delivers well-considered governance solutions for the Bank. Key attributes we’re seeking include: An active interest and background in resilience-related disciplines, i.e. supplier governance, business continuity and crisis management, IT service continuity management, supplier resilience and operational risk. Familiarity with APRA Prudential Standard CPS 230, the Bank’s Critical Operations and more broadly, the Group’s work to manage its operational risk under the Standard. A genuine passion for leading and supporting teams, fostering engagement, and driving collective success. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels and work across the organisation. Experience is agile ways of working / Pace, managing Jira boards, identifying and escalating dependencies. The ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise responses.
