Finance Officer
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Finance Officer to join a State Government Body within their AP/AR team.
Key Responsibilities
* Administer the end-to-end accounts payable process, including processing approved invoices, conducting weekly payment runs (EFT, cheque, and overseas), and reconciling creditor statements. Ensure compliance with financial policies and trading terms.
* Prepare and distribute sales invoices and credit notes, ensure timely debt collection, minimise overdue accounts, and process bank and debtor account reconciliations.
* Handle monthly General Ledger reconciliations, manage exceptions through the eCloud Document system, and complete month-end reporting. Process refunds, disbursements, and ad hoc invoices while maintaining accurate records.
* Address financial queries, deliver excellent customer service, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient operations.
* Contribute to enhancing operational efficiency through process and policy improvements. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and organisational standards.
* Uphold high levels of confidentiality and discretion with sensitive information. Actively support and promote health and safety initiatives.
About You
* At least 2 years' experience managing end-to-end accounts payable and receivable processes.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high work volumes and meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
* Knowledge of Goods and Services Taxation (GST) requirements.
* Familiarity with Technology One financial systems is desirable.
