Kildare Catholic College is a catholic secondary college teaching students from year 7 to 12. It also has a diverse boarding population at Mt Erin Boarding House, offering an affordable boarding option for students who live outside the Wagga Wagga region. Your Recent Role
The KLA Coordinator is responsible for strategic, instructional and administrative leadership and directing staff and students in their faculty to achieve sustained improvement in teacher effectiveness and student learning outcomes. As a member of the Teaching and Learning Team (which includes all middle leaders engaged with teaching and learning), each KLA Coordinator contributes to the College’s overall improvement of learning outcomes and to staff performance and development. The KLA Coordinator is also a member of the broader middle leadership team, collaborating with pastoral middle leaders to support the holistic development of students. The classroom teacher is the major in-school influence on student achievement and plays the key role of facilitating effective learning and teaching, functioning as an effective member of a collaborative team focused on student learning and wellbeing.

Coordinator appointments are three-year contracts, with the option of renewal for an additional three years subject to ongoing successful performance reviews.
Selection Criteria
- A commitment to supporting and promoting Catholic values in the College, particularly in curriculum and teaching and learning.
- Expert classroom practitioner
- Accreditation C Work, Teach and Lead, or willing to work towards.
- Demonstrate evidence of ability to work collaboratively and effectively in teams.
- An understanding of contemporary pedagogical approaches, including the Effective Learning Cycle.
- Knowledge of NESA curriculum requirements, practices and procedures.
- Ability to manage conflict situations.
- Effective organisational and communication skills.
- A demonstrated capacity to align practice with a whole-school Positive Behaviour for Learning model of student support.
- An appropriate mix of pedagogical, content and technological knowledge.
- An informed understanding of inclusive, learner-centred pedagogy.
- An ability to work as part of a team and contribute positively to staff professional culture.
- Participate in staff professional development in partnership with the College.
- Contribute to the KLA team in their understanding of relevant curriculum and its application to the College.
- Willingness to take on co-curricular activities.
- Meets or willingness/capacity to work towards the requirements to Work, Teach and Lead Policy (Accreditation C)
- NSW Working with Children Check
- NSW NESA Accreditation
- Successful candidate to undergo a National Criminal History Check.
