Short Description
WorkPac is seeking a motivated Depot & Fleet Support Officer to join Western Australias Wheatbelt Region team based at the Northam office. This role runs for approximately 13 weeks and is ideal for someone with strong organisational skills who enjoys a mix of hands-on depot tasks, fleet coordination, and administrative support.
About Our Client
Our client is a key government agency responsible for managing and developing the state road network. Their Wheatbelt Region team supports critical road maintenance and operational activities across a large regional network. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to essential transport services within a supportive, safety-focused environment.
What You Will Be Doing
* Depot Activities
* Supporting the Plant & Depot Manager and Depot Officer in day-to-day operations
* Assisting with monthly depot inspections and upkeep, including tertiary depots
* Completing minor repairs on small plant and equipment
* Ensuring small plant items are cleaned, serviced, and ready for use
* Cleaning emulsion tanks as required
* General depot maintenance including whipper snipping and yard housekeeping
* Fleet Coordination
* Completing maintenance checklists for Main Roads fleet and pool vehicles
* Coordinating servicing and repairs with the Plant/Depot Manager
* Managing pool vehicle bookings and key control (Smartrak)
* Entering vehicle usage and plant servicing data (Uniqco)
* Lodging insurance claims and liaising with Fleetcare, ICWA, and internal departments
* Cleaning and detailing end-of-lease vehicles prior to return
* Depot Materials
* Assisting with monthly stocktakes (signs, emulsion, aggregates, gravel)
* Ordering depot materials and supplies in line with procurement processes
What You Will Need
* National Police Clearance
* Current C-Class Drivers Licence
* White Card
* Ability to pass required medical assessments
* Strong time management and organisational ability
* Knowledge of procurement and administrative processes
* Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office)
* Experience with record keeping
Preferred
* Background in depot, fleet, or plant maintenance environments
* Experience performing minor plant/equipment repairs
* Familiarity with systems such as Smartrak or Uniqco
