Container Repair Specialist
We are seeking a detail-driven and experienced professional to join our operations team as a Container Repair Specialist.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of container repair procedures, including inspection, assessment, and costing repairs to standards. They will be responsible for inspecting and assessing sea containers across various types and damage profiles, identifying and recording defects, and preparing accurate repair estimates based on industry standards and customer-specific requirements.
The successful candidate will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. They will be proficient in digital inspection tools and container management systems, with a metal trade qualification or experience in welding, panel repairs, corner casting replacement, and container floor restoration.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive inspections of general purpose, high cube, reefer, open-top, flat rack, and tank containers in accordance with industry standards.
* Identify and record structural, mechanical, and cosmetic defects, including corrosion, impact damage, warped frames, floorboard issues, and faulty locking mechanisms.
* Prepare accurate repair estimates based on industry standards and customer-specific requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* IICL-6 Certification (current and valid).
* Minimum 2 years' hands-on work in container surveying, repair estimation, or leasing inspections.
* Proficient in digital inspection tools and container management systems.
* Metal trade qualification or experience in welding, panel repairs, corner casting replacement, and container floor restoration.
