We are currently seeking experienced CNC Machinists to join our advanced manufacturing site based onsite in Port Melbourne on a full-time permanent basis. The roles will primarily be based on day and afternoon shift.
Position Responsibilities:
* Operate CNC Machines
* Work to fine tolerances
* Understanding of cutting tools (Tool life and condition, speeds and feeds)
* Basic understanding of general dimensions and tolerances
* Use of measuring instruments – micrometers, verniers and slip gauges
* Follow written instructions to set up fixtures and associated tooling
* Use of hand tools for deburring/thickness
* Perform operator quality verification
* Basic understanding of continuous improvement and lean principle
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):
* Minimum 3 years CNC Machining experience on 4 or 5 (High Speed) Axis Machine is essential
* Australian recognized Trade Qualification as a First-Class Machinist is essential
* Flexibility to be available across both day and afternoon shift is essential
* Ability to read and interpret Engineering & Technical Drawings
* General knowledge of OH&S procedures and exposure to quality systems
* Proven capability to work to agreed deadlines
* Good communication skills and work well within a team environment
* Full, unrestricted working rights in Australia
Additional Information:
This is an Enterprise Agreement position and classified as an Aerospace Tradesperson 1. The successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment checks and a 3-month probationary period.
