We are currently seeking a skilled Operational Accounts and Finance Manager to lead our accounts and administration team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to take ownership of end-to-end financial operations in a high-performing, values-driven business.
About the Role
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role is responsible for the day-to-day financial operations across all departments including Sales, Service, Parts, and Administration. You'll oversee a small team, lead financial reporting processes, support payroll, and ensure compliance with taxation and accounting standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing daily accounting operations, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
- Preparing monthly management reports and supporting statutory returns (BAS, FBT, GST, PAYG)
- Managing accounts payable, receivable, and payroll support
- Supporting annual budgets, forecasting, and external audit processes
- Leading and developing a small administration and accounts team
- Supporting continuous improvement across systems, reporting, and financial controls
- Collaborating with department heads and senior leadership on financial performance
About You
You’re a detail-oriented finance professional with a strong background in accounting operations, preferably in the automotive or dealership environment. You enjoy improving systems, mentoring others, and working collaboratively across departments.
What you’ll bring to the table:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (CA/CPA desirable but not essential)
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role, ideally in a dealership or multi-entity environment
- Strong knowledge of Australian tax and financial reporting requirements
- Proficiency in accounting software (TUNE, Revolution Next, Xero preferred) and Excel
- Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring a small team
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build strong internal relationships
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities with a high attention to detail
- Valid Australian driver’s licence
