WORKSHOP MANAGER – PERFORMANCE LEADER
West Coast Auto Air Conditioning – Mandurah
The Qualities We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a driven, numbers-focused leader who understands that structure creates performance, and culture sustains it.
You take pride in running a tight ship. You believe workshops should be measured, efficient, and accountable. You don’t hide from KPIs, you use them to win.
You command respect not by volume, but by competence.
You understand diagnostics deeply, but you don’t need to live on the tools to prove it.
About You
You are:
* A qualified automotive professional with strong diagnostic credibility
* Experienced in leading technicians or running workflow
* Confident tracking productivity, billable hours, and margins
* Calm under pressure and decisive in problem-solving
* Structured, organised, and systems-oriented
* Direct, clear, and honest in communication
You’re motivated by improvement, not comfort.
About The Role
This is not a “senior technician” position.
This is a production and performance leadership role.
You will:
* Oversee daily workshop workflow and job allocation
* Monitor and improve billable hours and technician utilisation
* Ensure accurate diagnostics and consistent quoting standards
* Install measurable KPIs and performance tracking systems
* Support and develop technicians while maintaining standards
* Work closely with ownership during transition and knowledge transfer
Minimal time on the tools. Your role is to lead and optimise.
The Opportunity
You will join during an exciting transition period as ownership evolves and the business enters its next phase of growth.
The current owner will remain during handover, giving you the opportunity to absorb operational knowledge while helping implement structure and measurable performance systems.
This is a role for someone who wants to build something, not maintain the status quo.
Base Salary: $90,000–$100,000 (depending on experience) Plus performance bonuses tied directly to workshop KPIs.
If you lift productivity, you’ll be rewarded for it.
If This Sounds Like You…
If you’re still reading and thinking, “Finally a workshop that wants to run properly,”
We want to hear from you.
Please submit:
* Your resume
* A cover letter explaining why you are the right fit
* A 30–60 second video introducing yourself and explaining what excites you about leading a high-performance workshop
Mandatory Requirements
* Qualified automotive technician
* Strong diagnostic capability
* Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
