About the role
Reporting to the State General Manager, Commonwealth Private, you will lead a team of Private Bankers to deliver an exceptional experience to our HNW client base.
In this role, you will:
* Recruit, coach, train and develop a high‑performing team of Private Bankers
* Deliver strong outcomes for our people, customers and shareholders across employee engagement, customer experience and business growth
* Foster a culture of proactive relationship management and deep client understanding
* Ensure your team maintains strong awareness of clients’ financial positions to enable early identification and management of risk
* Drive adherence to all relevant policies and procedures, promoting a strong culture of risk awareness, governance and compliance
* Lead delivery across organisational, people, culture and performance objectives
About you
* Proven experience leading a large team of sales or relationship management professionals, ideally within private banking or a HNW‑focused environment
* Demonstrated capability leading and embedding change to deliver positive people, culture, risk and financial outcomes
* Strong lending and credit technical expertise
* Experience across both Banking and Wealth Management (highly regarded)
* Comprehensive experience in governance, risk and compliance
* Experience in budgeting, planning and leading departmental performance
* Tertiary qualifications in a business‑related discipline
* RG146 accreditation
* MBA or Master’s in Applied Finance (desirable, not essential)
