Accounting Manager

We are seeking an Accounting Manager to lead our accounting team at our Somersby location. This role offers the opportunity to oversee all core accounting operations, payroll, and compliance functions, while working closely with senior management to support financial strategy and growth.
About the Role
As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the company's financial records. You will manage daily accounting operations, lead payroll and statutory reporting, oversee cash flow management, and provide timely reporting to support decision-making.
This role will also see you mentoring and developing a small finance team, driving process improvements, and ensuring the department operates with efficiency and precision. Reporting to the Accounting and Finance Manager, you'll play a critical role in strengthening our financial performance as the business continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close.
* Manage payroll, ensuring compliance with legislation and accurate, timely payments.
* Prepare financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
* Oversee compliance with BAS, IAS, PAYG, Payroll Tax, and other statutory obligations.
* Manage daily cash flow and relationships with banks and financial institutions.
* Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.
* Support external audits.
* Drive process improvements and implement system enhancements.
About You
We're looking for an experienced and motivated finance leader with:
* 5+ years' accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing or retail.
* Professional accounting qualification preferred.
* Strong technical skills in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
* Advanced Excel and accounting software experience.
* Proven ability to lead teams and collaborate across departments.
* A detail-oriented, analytical, and process-driven approach.
* Adaptability, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
