About us:
The outer western region of our service includes extremely remote communities. Cairns Hospital is the only major referral hospital in Far North Queensland and also provides care for people from Cape York and the Torres Strait.
About your role:
- Demonstrates a high level of clinical knowledge and understanding to support staff to exercise independent professional judgment in problem solving and managing a clinical caseload within MHAOD settings.
- Planning, developing, facilitating, implementing and evaluating evidence based clinical education to support practice, build leadership capability and optimise the role and scope of practice of staff, including monitoring and reporting on relevant key performance indicators.
- Proactively work within a model of empowerment and capacity building across staff and services within the HHS, building skills, knowledge, confidence and capacity of allied health.
- Support innovative, current and safe educational practice within the learning workplace and actively contribute to the translation into practice of professional knowledge.
- Utilise a quality improvement framework to develop the clinical education model and monitor education outcomes closely, reporting in a timely fashion to all relevant stakeholders and with the support of senior staff.
