Services / Mechanical Engineer

Join our highly driven team in developing the services strategies and directly influencing utilities and services infrastructure across our Adelaide and Parafield Airport sites.

- Play an integral role in the development of 200ha of mixed use land including aeronautical uses, commercial developments and new industrial land releases
- Responsible for developing utilities and services concepts and advice
- Monitoring performance of infrastructure against modelling and capacity to inform timing and scope of upgrades
- Diverse portfolio across: potable, recycled and fire water, power, communications, sewer and gas

We are seeking a dedicated Services or Mechanical Engineer to undertake the ongoing development of the utilities and services engineering strategies across Adelaide and Parafield Airport. This portfolio includes potable, recycled and fire water, sewer, power, communications and gas. As the services technical engineering specialist you would provide services infrastructure advice to inform future developments, including concept design and ongoing engineering advice throughout design and construction.

Supporting the Infrastructure Development Manager in tasks such as:

- Concept design and detail design input and review; including engineering calculations, analysis and investigations.
- Development of designs and planning including applying engineering models to planning and capital development projects, monitoring of actual flows and capacities against forecast to identify future triggers for upgrades, updating staging and implementation plans to reflect external influences, investigating and implementing new technologies and methodologies.
- Development of high level services concepts, establishing assessment criteria and evaluating these concepts against the criteria
- Services and utilities technical advice across the business
- Development of the services elements of future AAL master plans
- Communicating requirements and advice internally and externally to help inform: business cases, lease agreements, aeronautical deals, service providers and equipment suppliers.
- Review Development Applications against the services and utilities aspects of the AAL Master Plan
- Understand, implement and contribute to our sustainability and environmental guidelines (including water, gas and energy efficiency measures, on-site renewable generation, control system tuning, extending recycled water use where applicable and implementing stormwater reuse)
- Development and adherence to internal design guidelines

The Services or Mechanical Engineer is a passionate self-driven professional who thrives in a busy and supportive work environment. As part of the close-knit Airport Planning, Development & Delivery team, you are a positive and motivated team player, committed to continual learning and with demonstrated flexibility in providing a variety of engineering options to suit varying and changing circumstances. You proactively nurture relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and possess excellent attention to detail, a logical approach to solving problems, and exhibit high verbal and written communication competency.

This exciting new role would suit a technically strong engineer with a practical and broad understanding of the services required for major precinct developments. An Engineer who thrives in a fast paced commercial environment and who loves working alongside and collaborating with similarly driven and positive colleagues. Mechanical engineers with practical design experience across pumps, pipes and complex reticulated liquid systems and with a broad understanding of utilities and services required for major developments would also be considered.
