Emergency Medicine Specialist
This is a fulfilling opportunity for a dedicated medical professional to take on the role of a Staff Specialist in Emergency Medicine.
About the Role:
* Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist (Emergency Medicine) and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
* Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Emergency Medicine at the role delineation of the service.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
* Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
* Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for delivering high-quality patient care in a rural setting, while also contributing to the development of the hospital's emergency department. They will be expected to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve excellent patient outcomes.
About the Facility:
The hospital is a ninety-nine bed facility providing a comprehensive range of services including acute medical and surgical services, obstetrics, paediatrics and a range of diagnostic and allied health services. The referral community of the area is 55,200.
A busy emergency department, a Level 3 Close Observation Unit, mental health unit and renal dialysis unit are just some of the facilities available at the hospital. The hospital is a spacious, modern and well-equipped with the most recent development opening in 2019.
Medical students undertake clinical placements and attend teaching at the clinical school which is exceptionally well resourced with simulation laboratories and tutorial rooms.
