We are seeking a commercially minded and strategic Retail State Manager to lead and influence the performance of a multi-site retail and franchise network across the state. This role is ideal for a strong retail leader who thrives in a corporate environment, understands the complexity of franchise operations, and can balance operational excellence with commercial growth.
Reporting to the National Retail Manager, you will be responsible for driving retail performance, influencing franchise and company-owned stores, and ensuring operational consistency across a geographically dispersed network.
About the Role
This is a hands‐on leadership role focused on improving store performance, strengthening operational standards, and delivering sustainable sales growth across the state.
You will partner closely with Store Managers and Franchise Partners to influence outcomes, coach performance, identify growth opportunities, and implement strategic initiatives that improve commercial results and customer experience.
With multiple stores across the state, strong time management, prioritisation and stakeholder management capabilities are essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive state retail performance across company-owned and franchise stores
* Influence and coach Store Managers and Franchise Partners to achieve commercial and operational targets
* Identify opportunities to grow sales, margin and overall business performance
* Develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve store results and customer experience
* Lead performance conversations and implement improvement plans where required
* Ensure stores consistently deliver operational excellence and brand standards
* Analyse store performance data and proactively identify trends, risks and growth opportunities
* Support retail marketing and promotional initiatives to drive traffic and conversion
* Build strong relationships across the franchise network and wider business
* Conduct regular store visits across the state to support, coach and influence teams
* Lead and embed a positive, high‐performance and safety‐focused culture

You are a commercially astute retail leader with experience managing large, multi‐site retail operations within a corporate environment.
You'll bring:
* Proven experience leading retail networks across multiple locations
* Strong franchise management or franchise partnership experience
* Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes and drive business growth
* A strategic mindset with a strong focus on retail performance and commercial results
* Excellent stakeholder management and relationship‐building capability
* Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities across a large territory
* Experience coaching leaders to improve sales, operational performance and customer experience
* Confidence interpreting retail performance data and using insights to drive action
* A hands‐on leadership style with the ability to balance strategy and execution
