Community Connections Coordinator (Better Futures)

We’re seeking Community Connections Coordinator (Better Futures) who believes in young people’s strengths, and supports them connect, belong and thrive.

About the Role

As our Community Connections Coordinator (Better Futures), you’ll empower young people transitioning from a care experience to build the relationships, networks and opportunities that fuel confident, connected independence. You’ll open doors to education, employment, mentoring and community life by leveraging local partnerships across government, business and community services.

Working collaboratively with the Youth Support Team and key stakeholders, you’ll champion Better Futures and Brophy’s strengths-based approach, creating meaningful pathways and celebrating the potential of every young person.

If you’re driven by possibility, partnership and purpose, this part time (.6EFT) role is where you’ll make real change happen.

Required Skills

- A clear understanding of care services and the challenges met by young people (including culturally & linguistically diverse, family violence, substance abuse, child safety, mental health and relationships) and their families within the Out of Home Care system.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and evaluating programmes or projects involving youth and undertaking community development approaches.
- Experience in developing strong networks and/or partnerships to negotiate and advocate on behalf of young people supporting their transition to independence.
- An ability to understand Advantage Thinking principles and develop and apply the model of practice within a team and service delivery approach.

Qualifications / Credentials

- A minimum qualification of a sector recognised and accredited Bachelor of Social Work / Community Development or Diploma in Community Development / Community Welfare Work or equivalent. (Qualifications must be approved by recognised professional bodies: e.g. AASW, Community Services Council, APS etc.)
- A current Drivers Licence.
