Riviera's NPI (New Product Introduction) team plays a crucial role in transitioning freshly designed boat models from the conceptual stage to their initial manufacturing phase.

Functioning as a pivotal connection between the designers and our team of skilled boat builders, the NPI department is responsible for creating essential boat building documentation, clear plans, expert labour support and other solutions to the various teams responsible for crafting new boat models that have been slated for production.

About the Role (New Product Introduction
- Fit Out 1 Specialist)

Our NPI division is in need of a skilled boat craftsman to join our team, specifically within the "Fit Out 1" domain.

**A specialist in Fit Out 1 should be capable of showcasing expertise and familiarity with various boat construction concepts, such as**:
Major component assembly (decks to hulls etc) Systems runs (plumbing etc) Grp small part fitment A Fit Out Specialist at Riviera typically divides their time, with approximately half dedicated to overseeing and assisting in the hands-on construction process of new boat models and the remaining half in the design office, creating and updating documentation and aiding in solutions for designers and tradespeople during the first construction of a new model.

**Typical duties & key responsibilities include**:

- Provide expertise in boat building processes to enhance design, build processes, systems implementation, and fit-out methods during the design phase to address potential issues while upholding adherence to the original design concept.
- Prepare preliminary boat build documentation for new models scheduled for production.
- Effectively communicate production challenges to the design team to facilitate prompt resolutions.
- Providing physical labour assistance to a variety of skilled trades during the first few builds of a newly designed boat model.
- Monitor build progress during the first 3 boats using build sequences, reporting updates to management, and assisting with alternative actions where necessary.
- Providing prompt and effective solutions, feedback, and collaborating with the design team and boat builders to ensure best practices are in place for the ongoing production of a new model.
- Ensure on-time achievement of production schedule launch dates Continuously reinforce core principles of superior boat construction, including reliability, redundancy, service-oriented design, and owner-centric practicality.
- Foster positive relationships with employees and contractors to boost team spirit. Lead and motivate the team towards established objectives.
- Maintain compliance with company HR and OHS&E policies, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the employee workplace protocols.
- At least 3 years' experience as a boat constructor, specifically with a focus on fibreglass or larger, high-end boat designs
- Evidenced proficiency across a range of expert labour tasks relevant to maritime fabrication
- A professional demeanour when engaging with other departments and contractors
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Superior aptitude in resolving challenges, encompassing the ability to define, investigate, and derive effective resolutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

**Remuneration & employment conditions**:

- This is a full time role, paid on an hourly basis with wages paid weekly.
- Standard working hours for this role are: 6am-3pm Mon
- Thurs & 6am-Midday Fridays.
- Opportunities for overtime are available beyond the regular hours, paid at penalty rates.
