We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to join our team in Colac.
This role will play an integral part in supporting our operations and maintenance teams, leading on-site purchasing activities, and ensuring timely sourcing of parts and services.
The ideal candidate will have experience in purchasing and warehouse management, with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Main Responsibilities:
* Implementing and maintaining inventory management systems to improve tracking, reporting, and decision-making processes.
* Conducting regular stocktakes and critical spare reviews.
* Developing and executing strategies to optimise inventory turnover rates, minimise holding costs, and reduce waste.
* Site purchasing activities to support sawmilling and maintenance teams, achieving good commercial outcomes.
* Liaising with maintenance, operations, and site finance teams to ensure effective and accurate monthly close offs.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* A current Victorian Drivers Licence.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, upholding purchasing processes and systems.
* Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
* Strong computer skills, including purchasing and maintenance systems.
* The ability to develop strong relationships internally and with key suppliers and customers.
