Banana Shire Council is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Technical Administration Officer (Water Services) to provide high-level administrative and technical support to our Water Services team. About the role
Reporting to the Manager – Water Services, you will provide administrative, financial and technical support to water and sewerage operations while delivering responsive customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, systems and processes in a busy operational environment.
Key responsibilities
* Respond to internal and external customer enquiries professionally and efficiently
* Provide administrative and technical support to the Water Services team
* Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, purchase orders and contract administration
* Prepare correspondence, reports, agendas and meeting minutes
* Input, extract and analyse data using MS Excel and specialist software (e.g. SWIMS, Aqualas Water)
* Support water quality reporting, compliance documentation and subsidy claims
* Assist with monthly reporting, audits and quality assurance documentation
* Support trade waste administration, meter data processes and customer queries
* Coordinate appointments, travel and diary management
* Contribute to continuous improvement, safety reporting and disaster response activities
What you’ll bring
Essential:
* Certificate IV in Business Administration or equivalent relevant experience
* Current Class C manual driver’s licence
* High-level computer skills, including Microsoft Office
* Strong literacy, numeracy and communication skills
* Proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality
* High attention to detail and excellent customer service skills
* Commitment to Workplace Health and Safety and EEO principles
Desirable:
* Experience in financial management and reporting within an operational or construction environment
* Ability to quickly learn new software systems and processes
* Knowledge of water industry systems such as SWIMS or Mi Water/Aqualas Water
