RediMed is seeking a Medical Practitioner with an Occupational Health interest to join our team in our brand new, modern, fully equipped practice in Mackay.

* Health Surveillance and monitoring

* Drug and Alcohol testing

* Vaccination clinics.

The Role
The Medical Practitioner will complete pre-employment medicals (including coal board medicals) and provide medical management for workplace injuries. You will have an opportunity to work closely with our specialists, and support of our wider medical team across Australia.
Our new medical practitioner will be provided with:

* Regular hours - Monday to Friday, 7:30am-5pm.

* Initial attractive hourly rate, with the opportunity for split share billings model when volume supports this.
You will be required to hold:
* Full unrestricted registration with AHPRA.
* Ideally Examining Medical Officer (Coal Board Medical) qualification (or a willingness to complete this training).
* Medical Indemnity insurance.
* Valid National Police Clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide high-quality occupational healthcare services to workers in keeping with best practice standards.
2. Assess potential workers before they commence employment. This includes verifying their medical history and conducting a basic medical examination following a standard template. A risk assessment is completed and recommendations are provided to the employer regarding the potential workers' suitability for the proposed role.
3. Medically manage workplace injuries to ensure return-to-work-outcomes are achieved effectively and efficiently.
