This role is accountable for statutory compliance and performance across business planning, legal, human resources, communications, governance, and risk functions.
It oversees a group that supports executives across the organisation, requiring a leadership approach that empowers direct reports while maintaining accountability for outcomes.The role is responsible for shaping and executing strategies that protect and advance the organisation's legal, regulatory, privacy, and information access interests.
It provides expert guidance on complex legal matters and works closely with the General Counsel to ensure effective representation in legal proceedings.
The position also drives continuous improvement in work health and safety, governance, and enterprise risk management, fostering a strong and cohesive risk culture.Additionally, the Executive Director provides strategic oversight of people and culture initiatives, ensuring alignment with organisational goals in areas such as leadership, engagement, wellbeing, and talent development.
The role also leads a high-performing communications and public affairs function, managing media and ministerial relationships to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent communication with Parliament, the public, and key stakeholders.About You You will hold relevant tertiary qualifications in law, business management, human resources, communications, government relations, or a closely related field.You will possess extensive senior executive experience, with a strong track record in strategic leadership, statutory reporting, and the development of policies and programs.You have the ability to quickly develop a deep understanding of the legislative and policy frameworks that guide operations, as well as the broader public sector environment.
