Join our team at dnata catering & retail as the Fleet & Facilities Service Coordinator at Adelaide Airport. The role combines diesel mechanic responsibilities for the fleet of delivery trucks and vans with coordination of facility maintenance, quotations, and external contractors for site works.
What does a typical day look like
No two days are the same. You will be responsible for our fleet of specialised delivery vehicles (up to a dozen) and ensure they are well maintained to road-worthy standards, diagnosing repairs as needed. You will also oversee general site facility maintenance, obtain quotations, and coordinate authorised external contractors for significant works to our warehouse, kitchen, storage, or back-of-house areas such as plant and equipment.
Responsibilities
FLEET Coordination
Inspecting and test driving vehicle fleet to diagnose malfunctions to ensure they are working properly
Inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure proper operating condition
Repair, replace, or adjust defective parts, updating the vehicle maintenance system
Perform routine maintenance daily and maintain accurate logs
Work closely with Customer Delivery (CD) department and CD Manager on vehicle updates
Coordinate services and repairs performed by external contractors/service providers in consultation with Operations to minimise impact on the business
Regularly update the Manager, Fleet on current and upcoming fleet repairs, flagging any urgent or critical repairs
On-call after hours to attend or provide support for breakdowns
FACILITIES Coordination
Regular site walk-arounds conducting visual checks on facilities, plant & equipment
Record issues requiring rectification on daily check sheets and logs
Regularly update the Manager, Facilities on current and upcoming building works
Ensure all assets are assigned to correct locations
Monitor Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive maintenance workloads to ensure scheduled completion
Organise service work orders (SWO) updates and set priorities for each request
Ensure maintenance plans are applied to assets as defined by the Manager, Facilities
Ensure correct task descriptions are linked to all maintenance plans
Coordinate quotation and third-party vendor processes for external works
Carry out reasonable handyman repairs as required (lighting, fittings, etc.)
Liaise with authorised suppliers for any specialised or external works
What do you need to be successful in securing this role?
Demonstrated success in a similar role
Mechanical Trade Qualifications
Medium Rigid Truck License, or ability to obtain one
Proven diagnostic skills
Electrical and PLC knowledge is essential
Good written and verbal skills and computer proficiency (MS Excel and Word)
Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as needed
Ability to pass National Police Check and pre-employment Medical assessments where required
