With the prospective acquisition of a hotel in Hervey Bay currently under consideration, we are seeking to appoint an experienced and commercially astute Hotel General Manager to lead the property through its next stage of growth and performance.
Hervey Bay is a recognised regional coastal tourism destination, and this role requires a capable and driven leader with the maturity, energy and discipline to oversee all facets of hotel operations while delivering clear commercial outcomes.
The successful candidate will be a highly organised and self‐motivated professional with demonstrated experience across hotel operations, sales and marketing, financial oversight, stakeholder management and team leadership. They will possess the confidence to establish standards, delegate effectively, hold people accountable and drive business performance.
A key priority of the role will be to strengthen the hotel's market position through focused sales and marketing activity, with an emphasis on improving occupancy, average room rate and overall profitability across both accommodation and restaurant operations.
Responsibilities
* overall leadership and management of hotel operations
* development and execution of sales and marketing initiatives
* oversight of accommodation and restaurant performance
* financial planning, forecasting, budgeting and cash flow management
* implementation and monitoring of systems, processes and reporting frameworks
* leadership of staff performance, expectations and accountability
* coordination with internal and external stakeholders, consultants and contractors
* oversight of administration, accounting functions and external financial liaison
* review of costs, income and commercial opportunities to support sound decision‐making
